Christianne Muusers (1959) is a freelance researcher, speaker and writer on culinary history. She received her MA degree in Dutch literature and linguistics from the University of Utrecht in 1988. She contributed to various books and periodicals. In 2003 she published Pauwen en pasteien (Peacocks and pasties), with medieval recipes that were prepared for a meal in the Muiderslot, a castle near Amsterdam. Her latest articles on sugar were published in: De Ghulden Roos, Jaarboek 73 (2013). In 2002 she started a website Coquinaria with recipes and articles on culinary history. An important part of her website is dedicated to a work in process: the editing of three Dutch medieval manuscripts.
