Sara van Dijk (1981) is junior curator of textiles at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, which she combines with a position as lecturer decorative arts at Leiden University. Besides her current research on linen damask and table culture she is also interested in the depiction of dress and textiles in painting. In 2015 she her PhD cum laude with the thesis ‘Beauty adorns virtue’. Dress in Portraits of Women by Leonardo da Vinci, for which she was rewarded the Jan van Gelderprijs in 2016.
