Drs. Willem Scheire obtained a Master’s degree in history at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2008. The title of his Master’s Thesis was Punk in Flanders in the 70’s: Popular Culture and Youth Culture in a Time of Crisis. In 2009, he obtained a Master’s degree in American Studies and a Teacher’s degree. As of October 2010, he is a member of FOST, working on a Ph.D. on the diffusion of the refrigerator in Belgium. It is part of the GOA (‘Geconcerteerde onderzoeksactie) 2010-2014, Omnivore Paradoxes in History: Food Traditions and Novelties in Europe since 1800.
