Zofia Boni is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Anthropology at Adam Mickiewicz University, and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at SOAS Food Studies Centre. Her research focuses on food and how it mediates and influences social relations, in particular those related to feeding children. Her current research project, funded by the National Science Centre in Poland, takes a critical look at the social dynamics of childhood obesity in Poland. Her ethnographic research focuses on studying health professionals, politicians and civil servants, families and children, and their views on and experiences of childhood obesity. Her recent publications include “It’s Safe: Food as a Way of Expression for Children in Warsaw” (in Children’s Geographies), and “’My Mum feeds me, but really, I eat whatever I want’: A Relational Approach to Feeding and Eating” (in Feeding Children Inside and Outside the Home: Critical Perspectives ed. by Harman, Cappellini and Fairclough). Zofia is a member of ASFS and a co-convener of the EASA Food Network.
