In 2014 we celebrate the bicentenary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Johan Pieter Gros, former cook to the first king of the Netherlands: Willem I, edited a mid century cookery book Hedendaagsche Kookkunst by Maria Haezebroek.
Gros added menus to explain the order of the dishes for a diner party. In May his and other cookery books of the Nineteenth Century are on display at Special Collections.
