In 2011, Jon Verriet (1985) acquired his master’s degree in Cultural History at Utrecht University. Focusing on both food history and sport history, he subsequently published several articles on the cultural values at play in routine consumption and everyday practices. After being involved in several research projects at the Free University of Brussels and Radboud University Nijmegen, he’s started his PhD project on the popularization of sports nutrition in September 2017. Its title is: Fitter, Stronger, Faster: The Athlete’s Diet and the Pursuit of Healthy Lifestyles in the Netherlands and the UK (1945-2016).
