One of the topics of our next symposium Fire, Knives and Fridges is Gastronomical Archeology. Mary C. Beaudry, Professor of Archaeology, Anthropology, and Gastronomy at Boston University will give a key note address on this subject. Professor Beaudry is a Visiting Scholar and lecturer at the Amsterdam Centre for Ancient Studies and Archaeology (ACASA), University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 1 September 2015 – 1 February 2016.
Her recent books include Archaeology of Food: An Encyclopedia (co-edited with Karen Bescherer Metheny; Rowman & Littlefield, 2015); Beyond the Walls: New Perspectives on the Archaeology of Historical Households (co-edited with Kevin Fogel and James Nyman; University Press of Florida, 2015).
