On the opening day of the Amsterdam Symposium on the History of Food 2016 the Professor J.M. van Winter Stipend 2016 was awarded to: Anil Domenic Paralkar, PhD candidate at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, Germany for his proposal “Spicing up Life – Early modern Europe’s Encounter with South Asian Foodways”.
The stipend of €1000 is made available by the Stichting Gastronomische Bibliotheek to encourage research in the History of Food collection of the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam.
